The Independent Review of Sexual Abuse in Scottish Football
WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!
Following a number of allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse in Scottish Football the Scottish FA has commissioned an Independent Review to consider the lessons that can be learned from these events. The Review will also assess whether current arrangements are good enough to ensure that children and young people taking part in football in Scotland are properly protected now and in future.
We want to make sure everyone participating in Scottish football gets the opportunity to give us their views and ideas about how things can be improved to make sure that such events will not happen again.
As the parent or carer of a child or young person taking part playing a part in Scottish football we hope you can provide us with your views and suggestions.
• Are you aware of the Child Protection/Safeguarding policies at your child's club?
• Have you found them helpful or reassuring? If not, why not?
• As far as you know does your child's club have someone who is responsible for Child Safeguarding/Wellbeing?
• Do you have any concerns regarding protecting children and young people from sexual abuse or exploitation in football?
• What else do you think should be done to make sure that children and young people are not at risk of sexual abuse in football in Scotland?
